Handmade olive wood tobacco pipe
The “Ballerina” pipe shape, pioneered by Bo Nordh, draws inspiration from the graceful stance of a ballet dancer en pointe.
My interpretation of this shape is crafted from Corfiot olive wood, rusticated in black color with contrasting red highlights. The shank extension is crafted from buffalo horn and embodies a brass mount that welcomes the hand-cut acrylic stem for enhanced durability.
The name of the pipe pays tribute to Misty Copeland, the first African-American woman to become a principal ballerina in the 75-year history of the American Ballet Theater, and her struggle to follow her dream against all obstacles.
