Serotonin
Handmade tobacco pipe
The ‘Grand old man’ Sixten Ivarsson once said that the ingredients for crafting a truly magnificent pipe are 90% natural, 5% materials, and 5% magic, and this pipe embodies my quest to capture that elusive magic, which -if nothing else- serves as both inspiration and motivation throughout the crafting process.
Although it is based on a few photos of a ‘bulldog’ pipe crafted by Ivarsson in the 1960s, this pipe reflects my own interpretation, with minor variations emerging naturally during construction.
Drawing upon my own skills and experience, the construction of this pipe has fulfilled my expectations of touching that 5% of magic. This is why I gave it the name of the “hormone” of happiness: Serotonin.
The pipe is crafted from Greek briar, and features an acrylic semi-transparent “amber-look” shank extension with a brass army mount to welcome the hand-cut ebonite stem.
No filter.
